Family Dinners
Since Evan is more awake and alert and aware of his environment these days, he craves more attention from mommy and daddy. That means that he doesn't like to be put down for any extended period of time. Gone are the days when Mark and I could sit down to a quiet meal together at the table. I can barely put Evan down long enough to reheat something for dinner! But we have managed to find a way to eat together as a family. All I have to say is Thank God for the Boppy!
The boppy makes it possible for me to nurse Evan hands free. So, while he contentedly lays in my lap, propped up in his little crescent shaped pillow, suckling away, I'm able to eat my chicken and mashed potatoes free of distraction. The trick is to get my food ready before he starts screaming bloody murder. I knew that I'd reached a new mark of maturity as a mother when I was able to change my child's poopy diaper while chewing a piece of roast chicken.
What?
Didn't gross me out at all.

hee hee :-) just wait until he starts flinging handfuls of strained peas with all his might while you try to eat your own peas :-) that's grand fun - if it's nice outside, just sit him out there in his high chair :-) makes clean-up a breeze :-)
much love,
